4,000 join May Day Rally in Hong Kong
A huge alliance of labour unions and student organisations called for a May Day rally in Hong Kong this year. About 4,000 people followed the call.
On the same day the minimum wage of HK$28 (~US$3.60) was introduced. Labour unions mobilised for this day saying that HK$26 are not enough to cover the basic costs.
About 100 people of the Hong Kong Federation of Students also participated, saying that their block at the march is also part of the Spring of Resistance.
