'Chung Hong Exploits – LG Profits': Support for Chung Hong Workers

A collective protest has been happening for more than two months in the Chinese factory of Chung Hong Electronics Poland. A few days ago workers decided on a referendum to go on strike. The workers demand: a wage increase (to 70 Euro/80 USD a month); the restoration of the social fund, a reduction of the the annual overtime limit, the restoration of free transport for workers, and other issues related to workplaces and work schedules. We ask for sending a protest letter to Chung Hong and LG Electronics Poland to show solidarity with their struggle.

China: ACFTU representing workers’ interests on ILO governing body – that cannot be serious!

China: ACFTU representing workers’ interests on ILO governing body – that cannot be serious! General Secretary of The International Union of Food, Agricultural, Hotel, Restaurant, Catering, Tobacco and Allied Workers' Associations (IUF) 10-08-2011 In June 2011 the All China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) was elected by the ILO workers’ group to the ILO Governing Body. Before taking up the issues arising from the presence of the ACFTU on the ILO Governing Body (on which it presumably now sits as a representative of workers' interests and defender of workers' rights), I have to reiterate my fundamental belief that any action that legitimates the ACFTU needs to be seriously questioned.
